About this recipe

Silky, smooth and deeply comforting, this butter chicken carries the signature smokiness of a clay tandoor — made easy with the Masala Makers Smoky Butter Chicken simmer sauce. Great with hot naan or steamed rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 jar Smoky Butter Chicken Simmer Sauce
  • 700g chicken thighs, cut into strips
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp thickened cream
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp cream
  • Salt to taste if desired
  • Chopped fresh coriander

Method

  1. 1Sear the chicken strips in a medium-hot pan with oil for about 5 minutes until they get some colour.
  2. 2Pour in the entire jar of simmer sauce with a splash of water. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. 3Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes until the chicken is cooked through, stirring occasionally.
  4. 4Finish with a swirl of cream and serve hot with a dollop of butter and fresh coriander.
